What to do at Disneyland During Halloween
1. Oogie Boogie Bash 2022?
Is there going to be an Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland in 2022? Yes! Also known as the Disneyland Halloween Party 2022, it will be held at Disney California Adventure (DCA) instead of Disneyland Park. The event will include Trick or Treat trails, Disney characters dressed in Halloween costumes, Limited-capacity admission to DCA, Disney Villain Parade, unlimited downloads of all Disney Photo pass pics taken that night, Villains Grove at Redwood Creek Challange Trail, and unique decorations/ music/ light effects.
2. Disneyland Halloween Tickets?
When do Disneyland Halloween tickets go on sale? The Oogie Boogie Bash for 2022 is currently Sold out. Tickets usually go on sale here early for Annual Pass Holders in the month of June and then to the general public in July. The Oogie Boogie Bash tickets allow guests early entrance to Disney California Adventure at 3pm (no park reservation required), and the Bash is held from 6pm to 11pm.
3. Disneyland on Halloween Night?
The Oogie Boogie Bash on Halloween night is the perfect activity for any age. It provides a safe place for young kids to Trick or Treat, gives adults a good reason to dress up in costume, and teenagers can hit up the dance parties in the backlot of Hollywood Land. You can go with your family or a group of friends and have fun either way! My kids are teens and don’t want to attend with their family anymore unless their friends come with… sad for me but fun for them!

4. Is Disneyland Crowded on Halloween?
Yes. unfortunately, Disneyland has become more crowded during Halloween time each year. If you want to enjoy the decorations, food, and attraction overlays, then try to come in mid-September or midweek during October. If you must go on a busy day, use these 2 tricks to make the day run smoothly, without much waiting. First, purchase Genie Plus and Lightning Lane passes to save time waiting in line for the most popular rides. Second, Order your food a few hours ahead of time because Mobile food orders can take a while and you don’t want to order last minute when you’re hangry! These 2 major tricks can make your day run much smoother!
5. Things to do in Disneyland During Halloween?
This might be the most important question of all. Here is a list of things to do:
-The Oogie Boogie Bash (Disneyland Halloween Party at DCA)
Parades, Trick or Treat trails, dance parties, and the Villains grove.
-Haunted Mansion Holiday
Decorations inspired by the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas.
-Halloween Screams
A fun and spooky firework show on Mainstreet at night.
-Halloween Decorations at both parks as well as Downtown Disney
The best decor might be in Carsland, it is so clever and cute!
-Guardians of the Galaxy (Monsters After Dark)
In the evening they run the ride in the dark with fun music. You HAVE to try it!
-Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
celebration is honored in both parks, Frontierland in Disneyland and the Paradise Gardens Park in DCA.
-Plutos Pumpkin Pursuit
This event is patterned after the traditional Disneyland Easter Egg Hunt where you pay for a score sheet and log all of the Hidden Character carved Pumpkins all around Downton Disney. When you turn in your score card you get a prize. The best part is you don’t have to pay to enter the park to do this because it’s held at Downtown Disney which is free to enter! You only have to pay around $10 for the score card.
-Eat all the yummy Halloween treats!
This is probably the most important of all. Throughout the Disneyland Resort, you will find special holiday treats and drinks. Some of the restaurants offer seasonal Fall food items that are usually very tasty!
6. Is Disneyland Better During Halloween or Christmas?
Hmmm…This depends on a few things. Do you generally like one holiday better than the other? If you are torn between the two holidays (like I usually am) then I have some good news! The Haunted Mansion has a temporary attraction overlay from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas! The whole ride inside and out is decorated for Halloween AND Christmas (just like the movie). Both Holiday times of the year at Disneyland offer seasonal food items and treats, merchandise, attraction overlays, parades, fireworks shows, and Character Costumes themed to the specific holiday. Another attraction that gets a holiday make-over is: It’s a Small World. It is so adorable to see those tiny animatronics in tiny Christmas outfits. The Jungle Cruise has had some Christmas decorations the last few years and it is hilarious to see Christmas light necklaces and Santa hats on those pesky monkeys at the end! And of course, I should mention that it SNOWS on Mainstreet at night during Christmas time… how magical is that?
So in conclusion, Disney goes all out equally for both Holidays in my opinion. If you have an opinion about which holiday is better then please comment below and let us know why. Your opinion is super helpful for anyone else reading this that is trying to plan a holiday trip to the happiest place on earth!
7. Disneyland Halloween Decorations 2022?
During Halloween time, the whole Disneyland Resort (including DCA and Downtown Disney) is decorated for the holiday. In Disneyland Park, you can enjoy the Mainstreet Pumpkin Festival which includes a Giant Mickey pumpkin that’s a perfect backdrop for holiday pics. The Haunted Mansion is decorated inside and out with the Nightmare Before Christmas theme. DCA has a Headless Horseman statue at the end of Buena Vista St. and bats all over Carthay Circle. Downtown Disney has a bunch of festive holiday decorations including the Hidden character-themed pumpkins used for Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit.
8. Is Disneyland Scary During Halloween?
No, Disneyland during Halloween is geared towards children and families. But this may vary depending on your level of scary. If you feel the Snow White Ride is scary…then you might think Disneyland is scary during Halloween! According to the Disney website, the decor has a “not-too-spooky, family-friendly tone”.
9. What Dates are Halloween at Disneyland?
The Halloween Decorations will begin on September 2nd -October 31st, 2022 at the Disneyland Resort. The Oggie Boogie Bash will be held on select nights from September 6 – October 31st, 2022. Also good to note is the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay on the Haunted Mansion attraction runs all the way through to early January, so don’t worry if you can’t visit the park during Halloween time.
